LYNNE FRANKS IN CONVERSATION WITH INSPIRING WOMEN AT BELMOND LA RESIDENCIA

 

Continuing her successful Conversations with Inspiring Women from the worlds of the arts, business and politics, Lynne Franks is launching a special four-part series in Mallorca this summer of 2015.

To be held over a number of evenings during the summer months, the Conversations will be hosted by Belmond La Residencia in Lynne’s home town of Deia, in aid of RANA, the Mallorca-based charity dedicated to education in stopping violence and sexual abuse against children.

 

Following her previous successful Conversations series in the UK with women from the arts, social activism, business and politics, Lynne’s Mallorca themes will include Island Authors; Fashion & Sustainability; Women in Politics and Women in Business and will feature a number of high profile international Mallorca residents.

 

The evenings from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. will be launched in early June with a Conversation with Magdelena López Vallespir, Deià’s first Woman Mayor, who has noticeably brought a more feminine open style into her every day connections with the very mixed local inhabitants of Mallorcans, Ex-Pats and Visitors. Joining her will be former politician Kate Mentnik who was one of the first foreigners to form part of the Spanish political scene on the island.

 

This will be followed every month throughout the summer and will be open to visitors, island residents and of course hotel guests.

 

Guest speakers will include anthropologist and author Jackie Waldren; author Anna Nicholas; eco-fashion designers Katherine Hamnett and Orsola de Castro; business women Margaret Whittaker OBE, and Catherine Sasson, and founder of the RANA Foundation, Elizabeth Homberg.

 

Former participants in Conversations with Lynne Franks have included Margaret Hodge, MP, Chair of the Public Accounts Committee; Caroline McCall, CEO of Easyjet; Maryon King, former President of Mastercard, UK; comedian Ruby Wax; Carol Bagnald of HSBC Bank and Stella Creasy, MP, former Shadow Minister for Women in Business.

 

Author and Businesswoman Lynne Franks is UK Co-ordinator of One Billion Rising, a global movement to stop sexual abuse of women and children. She is also the founder of SEED women’s empowerment workshops and network, and holds BLOOM Wellbeing Retreats for the Whole Woman at her Deia home as well as in the UK.

 

The evening will consist of the Conversation, Q & A from the audience and special cocktails from Belmond La Residencia.

 

Lynne Franks in Conversation with Inspiring Women will take place at Belmond La Residencia, Deia between 5 – 7 pm followed by the weekly La Residencia cocktail, on the following dates:
